A servant-leader focuses primarily on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which they belong. While traditional leadership generally involves the accumulation and exercise of power by one at the “top of the pyramid,” servant leadership is different. The servant-leader shares power, puts the needs of others first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible.

Servant Leadership is an evidence based leadership approach. Multiple research meta-analyses demonstrate its effectiveness across several organisational outcome measures. Servant leaders have the highest of standards. Don't be fooled by the name of this leadership philosophy, servant lead organisations are some of the most effective. Indeed, many of the Fortune 500 top companies are servant lead.

Instructor Profile

I have worked across several areas over the last 12 years, such as youth, homelessness, counselling and addiction. I have held positions such as practitioner, supervisor and team lead. I am a psychotherapist and hold a BA Counselling and Psychotherapy, MA Leadership and Management, HDip Further Education & Training and I am currently completing a practitioners Doctor of Social Science. I have published in peer review journals on servant leadership

I am absolutely passionate about servant leadership and I believe that we can make great strides not just at the organisational level, but across political and societal domains with this ethical and valuable approach.
