Trauma Responsive Interventions for Health & Social Care Practitioners

This 14-hour CPD training is based on my book. Choice & Collaboration in Trauma Service will teach you methods to keep the service user at the front and centre of their care by operationalising the principles of choice, and collaboration from trauma-informed care, engendering trust and safety

1) Learners will be introduced to several protocols for improving choice and collaboration during psychosocial interventions

2) Learners will demonstrate skills in operationalising choice and collaboration within their allied health and social care interventions, from assessment through to care planning, treatment and end of service

3) Learners will identify methods to provide young people, adults and families a voice in their care experience while maintaining fidelity to trauma responsive practices

4) Learners will understand the cultural implications of being trauma responsive

5) Learners will explore various therapeutic factors and their role in trauma treatment

6)Leaners will demonstrate skills in co-regulation and developing trust

7) Learners will understand how to develop organisational policies to support this way of working

Instructor Profile

Daryl Mahon has worked across the health and social care sector for over a decade, as a therapist and social care worker. Currently, he works as a researcher in health and social care with a focus on service reform in complex systems, as well as lecturing in Health and Social Care. He also provides national and international training across a variety of domains such as psychotherapy processes and outcomes; multicultural orientations; feedback-informed treatment and deliberate practice. Daryl is the author of multiple peer reviewed journal articles, as well as his seminal book on trauma responsive organisaitions.
